Over the past several months, we’ve been bringing The Whimsy Place to life—piece by piece, detail by detail, dream by dream.
While many of you have been following along for quite some time, we want to share an important part of our timeline:
Sadly, we did not receive final execution of our lease until the last week of February.
That means everything you’re now seeing—construction, design, buildout, and problem-solving—has been happening in a very condensed window.
And we’ve been moving fast.
🏡 Creating the Village
At the heart of Whimsy is our tiny village—a space designed for imagination, independence, and open-ended play.
Since gaining access to our space, we’ve been:
- Installing custom wall murals
- Framing and building out the village structures
- Designing intentional play zones for creativity and connection
Every detail is being thoughtfully created so children don’t just walk into a play space—they step into a world.
🎉 Elevating the Celebration Experience
Our celebration room is also undergoing a full transformation.
We’re building it to be:
- Beautiful
- Custom
- Functional
- Seamless for families to host meaningful moments
Because at Whimsy, celebrations should feel as special as the memories you’re creating.
🌳 The Heart of the Space
Our centerpiece gross motor tree—the heart of our play floor—is on its way and will anchor the entire experience.
It’s designed for:
- Climbing
- Sliding
- Exploration
And while we are counting down the days…

🛠️ The Reality of Building It Right
As we moved into buildout, we uncovered major plumbing and electrical requirements needed to bring the space fully up to code and to upgrade sorely outdated bathrooms.
These updates are:
- Non-negotiable for safety and comfort
- Required before opening
- Directly impacting the timeline of our Grace & Gather Café
While this has extended our timeline, it ensures we are creating a space that is safe, compliant, and built to last.
🫶 A Night We’ll Never Forget: Founding 50 (4.11)
On April 11th, we had the honor of celebrating with our Founding 50 families.
That night was a reminder that Whimsy is already more than a space—it’s a community.
Your belief in us, before we’ve even opened our doors, means everything. We were over the moon about every child’s reaction to meeting our beloved Whimsy the Corgi!! 🐾
💭 Why We’re Not Open Yet
We know the anticipation is real—and we feel it too.
But the truth is:
Between:
- A late February lease execution
- Required code upgrades
- Buildout timelines
- Delays on key elements like our centerpiece tree and village structures
…we are still in the final stages of creating the experience we promised.
And we will not rush that.

We also want to reassure our Whimsy families:
👉 The clock does not start on any pre-purchased memberships until the day we officially open to the public.
That means:
- Your time is fully protected
- Your investment is honored
- You will receive the full value of your membership
